With the carefree days of summer well and truly upon us, non-card carriers prepare to rejoice. Tomorrow’s People will unite Australia’s future stars with East Coast venues this January.
The all ages and alcohol free shows will feature some of the nation’s brightest new talent including Dylan Joel, E^ST, Kilter and UV boi.
Travelling to Geelong, Melbourne and Ballarat in Victoria, before jumping further north for shows in Byron Bay and Brisbane. The event will then snake its way through Wollongong, the Central Coast and Sydney in NSW.
In the spirit of youthful democracy, Tomorrow’s People will offer a rotating line up. Fans are advised to arrive early to catch their artist of choice. To celebrate the touring mini-fest, the crew on the line up have teamed up to produce an absolutely mega Summer vibes mixtape. Details on the tour and dates you can check out below.
Dylan Joel
Kyle – Don’t Wanna Fall In Love
This track is on a whole new level. Massive vibes while keeping super smooth. Kyle’s an animal and I think this track’s perfect for summer as it’s real light hearted and fun.
D.R.A.M. – ‘Cha Cha’
Such a jam. One of the best fusions of dance, cha cha (surprise surprise) and a background of hip hop. This song has beach vibes all over it and if that isn’t summer then I’m out.
Lido x Brasstracks – ‘Four Five Seconds’
You’ve probably heard the original ‘Four Five Seconds’ that became a pretty big hit. But one of my favourite producers ‘Lido’ actually reproduced this track and created an instrumental that brings summer to heaven. You gotta vibe this. Too ill!
E^ST
Young The Giant – ‘Apartment’
I can imagine lazily driving along the coast with all the windows down and listening to this song. I feel like there’s a nostalgic tone to the song, almost like you know one day you’re going to look back on this moment, full of wistfulness.
Tei Shi – ‘Nevermind The End’
This feels like a song you should listen to as you’re walking down a suburban street at sunset. When I listen to this song, it takes me to another place, which is exactly where I want to go when walking down a suburban street.
Rejjie Snow – ‘Nights Over Georgia’
This is a summer night, drinking and slow dancing on the beach jam. Lights reflecting off the water, a bonfire going, a starry sky. I love this song, because it slows everything down and makes the world seem cooler.
Kilter
Neon Indian – Annie
After a show in Adelaide the other week a friend of mine got a phone call saying that part of Neon Indian’s live rig wasn’t working and a replacement was needed before the show could go on. We were rushed down into some crazy underground venue, delivered the equipment they needed and were treated to an awesome show. This track was a standout and oozes summer.
DJ Snake – Middle (ft Bipolar Sunshine)
Snake definitely took a look at the success of Lean On over the past year and channelled some of that indie dance banger vibe into this one. Not mad about it that. The production and vocal cuts are on point and it is equipped with a very infectious drop.
Vindata (ft Anderson .Paak) – ‘Own Life’
I’ve been loving everything Anderson .Paak has been putting out recently. I was going to choose the cut ‘I Miss That Whip’ from his new album but this collab with Vindata is just too good to leave out. Having just put out an EP on OWSLA, Vindata should be set up for big things in the next year if this track is any indication.
UV Boi فوق بنفسجي
DJ Smokey – ‘Double My Cup’
Love it because it turns my energy from 0 to 100 real quick.
Sip some nice dranks out the double cup to this.
DMA’s – ‘Lay Down’
It’s a wicked song and I love singing along to it. It’s got a nice bright energy.
Ludacris – Party Girls (Explicit) ft. Wiz Khalifa, Jeremih, Cashmere Cat – ‘Party Girls’
