An exciting partnership could be in the works if Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz director Edgar Wright has his way, as he’s taken to social media to profess his admiration for the band, before reaching out to them directly for a potential collab.

As Music Feeds report, Wright first took to Twitter last night to quote the band’s infamous lyrics from Flying Microtonal Banana track ‘Rattlesnake’, infamous for its repetitive titular refrain, and to link fans to its genuinely awesome music video.

Mutual fans of the band and the director were obviously stoked to see the two brought together for the first time, and implored Wright to take the unique brand of humour and distinctive imagery of films like Scott Pilgrim vs. The World to King Gizz’s next video clip.

Apparently, he’d be more than up for it, and reached out to the band directly to make it happen.

There’s been no response from Gizz yet, who just made an appearance on Conan O’Brien’s late night talk show in the U.S., playing ‘The Lord of Lighting’ from their next album.

With Edgar Wright having just wrapped up his latest flick Baby Driver and plenty of new Gizz tracks on the way in need of video clips, the time could be right for this dream team to get to work.
