This November will see the return of Face The Music, two jam-packed days of panel sessions, keynote presentations, networking opportunities, workshops, and master classes, which bodes to bring together the best of Australia’s music industry.
From artists and managers, to labels, journalists, start-ups, policy-makers, activists, and promoters, Face The Music 2015 will be giving a wide range of industry stakeholders an opportunity to make new connections and support each other.
Last year, Face The Music delivered a groundbreaking speech on the future of music from alternative legend Steve Albini and this year organisers are kicking things off with presentations from international guest speakers JD Samson and Ruth Daniel.
Best known as a member of the bands Le Tigre and MEN, JD Samson is an American musician, producer, songwriter, and DJ, recently completing a musical collaboration with Pussy Riot amidst a non-stop schedule of DJ sets around the world.
Ruth Daniel is an internationally renowned music activist and the founder of Un-Convention, the global grassroots music event and community with a presence in 25 countries. She is also the co-director of In Place of War, which supports artists in sites of war, revolution and conflict.
This year, Face The Music will welcomes over 150 Australian and international speakers from every facet of the music industry, including producers Anna Laverty and Andrei Eremin, Frank Cotela (Onelove Music Group), Dan Rosen (ARIA), Nick O’Byrne (Look Out Kid), and more.
Tickets to Face The Music 2015 are now on sale via the official Face The Music website, with tickets priced from $65 to $120. Member discounts are available from Music Victoria, AAM, APRA, AIR, Collarts, AIM and The Push.
