Annual industry summit Face The Music is back for 2016, and the team have just announced the first details of what we can expect this year.
Most excitingly, this will be the first year that live music will be featured in the programme, tapping into a variety of established and emerging local artists and labels. The conference always features a range of insightful discussions, with panels made up of artists, media, and all sorts of other industry professionals, but the addition of live performances will be a step forward for what is already a big weekend for the local music industry.
They’ve also announced that this year’s panels will be programmed by a great pairing in Ashley Sambrooks, who works with the Victorian non-profit youth music organisation The Push, and Zac Abroms, who recently put together the excellent series of STEP industry panels/showcases in Melbourne.
Face The Music will be taking place over November 17-18 at the yet-to-be-announced Melbourne Music Week Hub venue, which will be announced in August. Early bird tickets can be picked up now, and more announcements will be on their way soon.
