Things are beginning to happen for Tin Sparrow, with the recent release of their sophomore EP Fair & Verdant Woods in April, and the band joining Boy and Bear for their massive 28 date national tour throughout May and June.

And the band has certainly earned their position on the tour, with the complex, mature and engaging work on offer on their most recent release. Lyrically developed and at times searing in its honesty the EP displays the capabilities of the band to produce cohesive and charming music, with a clearly developed degree of originality.

Commencing with the new single ‘My own’ begins the EP with a catchy whistling melody and hook-ridden harmonies, while the standout ‘Bricks’ features a delicately constructed and heartfelt vocal reciprocation between Matt Amery and Sonja Van Hummel .

The 5-track EP features harmonious and relatable song writing that maintains an alluring simplicity that avoids the trappings of verbosity. Relying on captivating melody and multifarious and dreamy instrumentation the EP delivers a well-constructed and aurally pleasing array.
