The Field Day 2014 set times have been announced, with the full timetable of the annual festival arriving just two weeks out from the New Year’s Day event.
Held at the Domain in Sydney on January 1st, 2014, Field Day 2014 contains four stages, but there’s not much room for overlap in the scheduling between them, so brace for clashes.
The Centre Field stage will play host to the event’s biggest names in electronic music and hip hop, with Flume closing out the day with an hour-long set of his award-winning beats, while his What So Not side-project will get things started in the early afternoon, alongside a patented Decade DJ set from Flight Facilities, funk-hop heroes Hermitude and Alison Wonderland.
The early evening will see US rappers A$AP Rocky and Wiz Khalifa command the Centre Field (likely guesting across each other’s back-to-back sets), before Flux Pavilion drops the bass ahead of Flume.
Over at The Island, a number of indie favourites will provide an eight-hour soundtrack, including mid-afternoon sets from Balearic dance rockers Crystal Fighters and cutting edge Perth producer Ta-Ku, before a perfect evening run that begins with London Grammar and Chet Faker, before evening sets from Solange Knowles and The Wombats.
The Left Field has a selection of DJs and electronic acts on offer – including the Flume-approved, Triple J Unearthed dominating likes of Wave Racer, Cosmo’s Midnight, and Yahtzel + L D R U. There’s also the Red Bull Crate Diggers stage, which will party with a number of themed sets.
Presented by Listen Out/Parklife promoters Fuzzy Entertainment, Field Day has been “rescuing New Years″ since 2002 and will once again set another 12 month cycle into gear at The Domain in Sydney; one of the last remaining major music events at the venue following the cancellation of Harvest and Homebake festivals.
Fuzzy director John Wall says “We started Field Day to provide a smart alternative to the letdown that new year’s eve can often turn out to be. 12 years on that’s as true as ever!”
