Some of the biggest names in music have been announced for the 2019 edition of the Australian Open’s 2019 concert series.
If your idea of a perfect summer day consists of nothing more than sport and music, then there’s a pretty strong chance you’re going to want to head along to next year’s Australian Open, which has begun to announce the bands who will be appearing at their nightly concert series.
With 15 days of music planned for January of 2019, the Australian Open has today announced two huge local acts alongside two amazing international musicians for next year’s festivities.
Aussie chart-topper Dean Lewis will be kicking things off on January 14th, while UK indie-rockers Bastille will be providing the tunes on January 17th. British singer Craig David will be performing on January 25th, while Angus & Julia Stone will be the headline act on women’s finals day on January 26th.
“We are very excited about the line-up of International and local talent we have assembled for the AO Live stage in 2018,” explained CEO of Mushroom Events Michael Gudinski.
“The Australian Open tennis is an incredible event and over the past few years the AO Live Stage has cemented itself as an integral part of the Grand Slam tournament.”
“It just gets bigger and better and today’s announcement that we have international artists such as Bastille and Craig David, along with Aussies Dean Lewis and Angus & Julia Stone, is really just the start of the announcements.”
“It will be an amazing 15 days of music at the AO Live Stage, and our team has worked hard to create a line-up that caters to everyone.”
“Bring on January, we at the Mushroom Group and Mushroom Events are very proud to be part of the Australian Open.”
This year’s Australian Open will also feature a brand new, purpose-built shade structure, making this summer musical experience much more enjoyable for fans.
All Australian Open tickets – including ground passes – are on sale now, while further lineup announcements are expected to follow in the coming weeks.
