Happy Area 51 Raid Day everyone! Everyone rejoice, the day has finally come, and Foo Fighters have decided to celebrate this fact with some brand new tunes for us to listen to during the raid.

Yep, September 20th is Area 51 Raid Day! With over two million people ready and all signed up to “Naruto Run” into the government’s most secretive location, Foo Fighters have surprise-released a live EP, recorded in Roswell, New Mexico. What better way to celebrate?

Foo Fighters really know how to get a party started, and wouldn’t dare miss a golden opportunity like this to release music. With the aliens waiting to be freed in their Area 51 cells, Foo Fighters had the perfect plan to commemorate the day.

Back in 2005, the Foos performed at Walker Air Force Base in Roswell, near an alleged UFO crash site. Dave Grohl and the gang invited 500 fans to attend the show, all of them competition winners celebrating the release of the band’s fifth album at the time, In Your Honour.

The seven-track EP features hits like ‘Monkey Wrench,’ ‘All My Life’ and ‘This is a Call.’ A special in-flight manual was even shared by the Foos via Twitter:

This September will see Foo Fighters, Weezer and Tenacious D join forces for a series of shows across South America.

The trifecta will begin their voyage on September 28th in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil as part of this year’s Rock in Rio, where they will perform alongside Red Hot Chili Peppers, Anthrax, Panic! At The Disco and more. They will then play Bogota, Colombia’s El Campin Stadium on October 1st. Then, Foo Fighters and Weezer will bid farewell to Tenacious D and perform at Estadio Nacional in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Last year saw the Foos and Weezer toured Australia together as part of the Fooeys “Concrete & Gold” world tour.
