Despite being one of the modern era’s biggest bands, selling out arenas and topping charts worldwide, Foo Fighters have never forgotten about their fans. Whether they’re showing up in small, intimate venues in London, or agreeing to play crowdfunded shows in their hometown, they’ve always got time for their devoted followers.

Now the band, who recently unveiled their eighth studio album, Sonic Highways, are protecting their fans’ hard-earned dollars with the announcement of their new ‘Beat The Bots’ ticketing scheme, which aims to prevent ticket scalping during their forthcoming tour of the US.

How do Dave Grohl and co plan on beating the high-tech ticket cheats? By going old-school. In order to stop scalping bots from clogging online ticket queues and purchasing bulk quantities of tickets which will later be sold at an inflated price to fans, the Foos are simply eliminating the online queue.

The band will instead release a selection of pre-sale tickets that can only be purchased in-person at pop-up box offices that will be located in cities included on the tour. An online pre-sale and general ticket release will then be made available to the public soon after

“Fans sick of Scalper-BOTS programmed to clog online queues and snatch up huge amounts of tickets to resell them will get first shot at tickets to these shows,” said the Something From Nothing rockers in a press release.

Meanwhile, the poster for the ‘Beat The Bots’ shows, which readers can check out below, features an eager punter punching a robot in the face, with a token from ‘SuckHub’ and several cash notes at the robot’s feet.

For most venues, the ‘Beat the Bots’ tickets will be limited to either two standing tickets or four seated and each pop-up box office will have official queue start and finish times. If you’re travelling Stateside, tickets to the shows are set to go on sale Saturday, 22nd November.
