Following this morning’s reveal of a mysterious website turning up online, corresponding with some poster artwork posted by the singer himself – it’s now official.

One of 2012’s biggest breakthrough acts, the Grammy Award-winning Frank Ocean will be bringing his thrilling brand of neo-RnB storytelling to Australian audiences in Sydney and Melbourne this July, in two very special sideshows to complement his already announced appearance at Splendour In the Grass 2013.

Tickets for both shows go on sale at 10am, Thursday June 6, but to be the first in the box office to nab these hot tickets, you’d best sign up to being a My Live Nation Member or Niche Newsletter Subscriber – who will have access to the members’ pre-sale beginning 4pm this Tuesday, June 4. Anticipation for 25-year-old Odd Future associate’s arrival to Australia has been at fever pitch ever since the singer cancelled his appearance for Future Music Festival last year so that he could focus on promoting his major-label debut, Channel Orange. The album eventually landed Ocean two major gongs at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards, for Best Urban Contemporary Album and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.

Channel Orange also debuted at #2 on the US Billboard Chart and the UK Albums Chart, landed #9 on the ARIA Charts and certified Gold in all three countries. It also brought Ocean the BRIT Award for International Male Artist 2013, the Soul Train Album of the Year award and the MTV Award for Man of the Year. Last month Time Magazine named Ocean in its annual list of the 100 Most Influential People.

Ocean also revealed on the Grammys red carpet earlier this year, as Billboard reports, that he’s begun work on the follow-up to Channel Orange, saying he’s “knee-deep in the next record. [I’m] just taking my time with it.”

As reported this morning, despite the conspicuous absence of any announced Splendour In The Grass sideshows from Frank Ocean, a mysterious website named after the artist’s newly-announced You’re Not Dead World Tour surfaced online, with some artwork that was strikingly similar to a poster that was posted on the Channel Orange star’s own Instagram account.

Containing zero information but a ream of city names with links to online ticketing vendors, it was easy to consider the website the cruel prank of an online hoax, but instead, it telegraphed what has now been confirmed to be Frank Ocean’s first ever headline Australian shows to complement his appearance at the three-day Byron Bay music festival.

These dates will sell out, so mark it in the diary and get ready.
