Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst has lost his home in the Californian wildfires. The fires have been one of the most destructive fires in history, it has left an estimated 250,000 people displaced. Durst reported that his house had burned down through an Instagram story.

Durst posted a photo of his face photoshopped over a picture of Steve Martin in The Jerk, captioned  “When you wake up and you’re house has burned down, but you were able to salvage your chair and thermos and paddleball.” Which is probably the most Fred Durst way of dealing with your home burning down imaginable.

Guitarist Wes Borland also lost “pedalboard, two guitars, two amps, a 2×12 cabinet, several other pedals and miscellaneous equipment” in a house that the fires consumed. It hasn’t been specified yet whether or not this equipment was in Durst’s house.

Red Hot Chili Peppers’ bassist Flea was also forced to flee his home. He has expressed his gratitude towards his neighbour that saved his home, posting “My house might have burned down down last night were it not for my friend Eric (in the second pic) who defied the evacuation orders and stayed up all through the night armed with his wits and a garden hose, and put out all the little fires at my house and my neighbors, saving our asses. He is a brave and beautiful, a selfless and kind man.”

Adam Jones of Tool was also affected by the fires and was forced to leave his home.
