Let the speculation begin! Glastonbury Festival organiser Michael Eavis told the assembled media pack on the last day of the weekend’s festival that next year’s headliners have already been booked. Eavis refused to be drawn on who they are, saying cryptically that there were “three really good headliners” in place, but continued to say that he was “not telling you who” yet.
He refused to confirm that the hot money would be on U2 to headline after the band were forced to pull out at the last minute after Bono hurt his back. Guitarist The Edge joined Muse on stage to cover U2’s stadium anthem ‘Where The Streets Have No Name’, with Eavis recounting their backstage conversation, saying “It was a great moment for us. He enjoyed a taster of playing – [U2 are] keen to do it. Whether it’s next year… or in three years’ time.”
What are your bets?
