After a whirlwind few years on the road worldwide, South Africa’s experts on summer anthems, Jeremy Loops are getting ready to head out on yet another global jaunt, in celebration of the newly released album Critical As Water.

In the lead up to the release of the album, the band took a few snaps highlighting the euphorics of playing to adoring audiences and sharing music worldwide.

Here are the band’s favourite moments from their monumental tour!

Some people perform on stage alone, which I most certainly could, but I choose not to. There’s a brotherhood that forms when you perform on stage with others that I value so much, I can’t see myself presenting my music in other form. This was shot on the first day of our tour at this incredible festival called Paaspop in the Netherlands.

Iconic Spaces. Epic Crowds

Location: Shepherds Bush Empire, London, United Kingdom

Date: 03 April

This was the biggest show of the European leg of our tour. A sold out Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London. It’s special being in a venue that iconic with that many people there to see you, but what made it even more special was we opened for Twenty One Pilots in that same space two years ago and I told myself there and then we’d headline our own show there. It’s nice to see goals like that come to fruition.

Heightened Connection Through Music / Berlin

There’s something spiritual and transcendental about live music. Those of us who go to shows often know this little secret. During shows, I take brief breaks to take it all in. This is a rare pic of one of those moments in Berlin, in this tiny venue where we crammed 1000 people, and the energy was palpable.

Once preparation is all done, the only rule we have and the only thing we ask of ourselves is to give relentless energy from start to end. There’s an inevitability we’ll get it back from the crowd if we’re playing well, so that’s a big part of our show. I do these fly kicks at the very end of the show to expend what little energy I have left. It’s become a bit of a hallmark.

The Close

Location: Volkshaus, Zurich, Switzerland

Date: 18 April

We closed the European Leg of the tour out at a beautiful venue called Volkshaus in Zurich. My mother is Swiss, and all my aunts and uncles and cousins from her side of the family still live in Switzerland, so it was special to have them all watching from the rafters too. The Swiss have always been good to us, so that felt like a home coming show. Perfect way to say goodbye to Europe.
