In just 12 short months, Newcastle’s Goldsmith has managed to construct a rather stellar reputation for themselves, one as skilled purveyors of vintage pop, both in the studio and on stage alike.
Following the promising responses to their debut single ‘White Flamingo’, the band has made good on those promises with their next offering ‘Backbone’ and is proud to announce a swift slew of live dates to back it up.
Mixed by Brisbane producer Matt Redlich (Hungry Kids of Hungary, Emma Louise, The Trouble With Templeton), ‘Backbone’ is another smooth slice of classic pop, simply oozing with digestible hooks and slinky melodies, all delivered with a right smile on its face.
Taking a unique DIY approach to the recording process – they record themselves in their own homemade basement studio – Goldsmith is definitely one to watch in 2013 with an aesthetic that mines the old in to create something brand new.
