As they finally marked the end of their journey at JYP Entertainment, K-pop group GOT7 shared an emotional handwritten letter for their fans.

After months of speculation about their contract renewals with JYP Entertainment, the members of K-pop group GOT7 confirmed earlier this month that they would leave their parent agency after their terms were up. January 19th was the group’s last day, coming days after their seventh anniversary.

To mark the end of this era, the group shared an emotional letter with their fans, Ahgase.

“First of all, we feel very apologetic to our Ahgase about writing a letter for a reason like this,” the group said, referring to the news of their departure.

“We are parting ways without contract renewal with JYP [Entertainment], which launched our beginning with us and worked hard for us until the end, as we cheer on each other’s futures. All of us members will be taking on new starts with people who will take responsibility together for each of our individual futures.” they wrote.

This, obviously, refers to the members pursing their solo careers. While members Jackson and BamBam have booming solo careers in their homelands of China and Thailand respectively, speculations state that Yugyeom might be headed to AOMG.

Meanwhile, Jinyoung might transition to acting, with JB and Youngjae also joining other labels. Mark, on the other hand, was reportedly heading to the US and has plans of starting a YouTube channel.

“We are writing to you like this as we want to tell our fans first. We know very well that no words can make up for the hurt feelings and uneasiness felt by Ahgase. However, we think there is just one thing that we can really say to Ahgase as GOT7.” the group continued.

They rounded off the message by a sweet dedication to their fans and the future, saying: “All of us want to continue making music for Ahgase, share it together, and continue spending time together in the future!”

“Rather than leaving the memories with Ahgase, who supported and watched over us who were imperfect, in the past, we want to aim towards the future with the memories. Making it reality instead of just a ray of hope, the seven of us will impress you for a long time as we each grow in different ways. Love you, I GOT7.”

Wishing all the members of GOT7 the best of luck!
