Over two years since the band went on hiatus, Ann and Nancy Wilson have revealed that Heart are getting back together.
Ever since Ann and Nancy Wilson kicked off hard-rock outfit Heart back in the early ’70s, they’ve been one of the biggest bands of all time in the genre.
After releasing their 1975 debut, Dreamboat Annie, the Wilson sisters have been rocking all over the world for almost 50 years, and even being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame back in 2013.
However, the group encountered a bit of turbulence a few years back that almost broke the band up completely.
After performing in Auburn, Washington in August of 2016, Ann Wilson’s husband Dean Wetter was arrested and charged with the assault of Nancy’s 16-year-old twin sons following an agreement over closing a door to an RV.
While Heart played the remaining 21 dates of the tour, the Wilsons refused to speak to each other, and following the conclusion of the tour, each sister went off with their seperate side projects.
Since then, fans had been hoping that a reunion might indeed be in the pipeline, with Nancy adding excitement to the prospect back in 2018. “I’ve gotta say, it’s looking really good for a Heart reunion tour,” she explained. “There’s a big offer up there on the table. Me and Ann are talking, so we’ll keep talking.”

Now, as Stereogum reports, the Wilson sisters appear to have put their differences aside, announcing the first Heart tour dates in almost three years.
“Yes, I could see it was time for Heart to have a break,” Nancy Wilson recalled in a press release. “We’d been slogging through tour after tour fairly nonstop and were starting to burn out a little bit. Things had just reached a heavy climax.”
“Both Nancy and I have stretched our wings in life these last three years,” Ann added. “We’ve both lived and loved. We have breathed and traveled and experienced life. We come to this tour with fresh energy and oxygen.”
At this stage, the group’s reunion tour will see them performing throughout the US and Canada between August and September of this year. There’s no word yet as to whether the tour will hit up Australia, but given that their sole trek down under took place in 2011, we reckon its time.
