Because COVID-19 has ruined everything that is good in the world, Hella Mega Tour has announced the cancellation of the upcoming Australia and New Zealand shows.

We knew it was coming, but it’s still a devastating blow to find out that the Australia and New Zealand leg of the Hella Mega Tour that was supposed to be occurring in November has now been cancelled.

The Hella Mega Tour was set to have an immense amount of headliners, with punk rockers Green Day, pop punk collective Fall Out Boy, and legendary alt-rock band Weezer playing alongside New Zealand’s The Beths.

Taking to Instagram, headliners Green Day, Fall Out Boy, and Weezer announced that they were “beyond bummed” that the tour was being cancelled, which left fans beyond devastated, as many were looking forward to the tour.

“We kept trying to put this piece of the puzzle together, but unfortunately it’s just not possible due to the uncertainty of the government COVID-19 travel restrictions, mass gatherings, and most importantly for the safety of our fans, crew, and staff,” their statement on top of a Hella Mega Tour poster reads.

At this time, ticket refunds “will be available at the point of purchase,” they’ve revealed.

“We love you all and we’ll be back there rocking with you at some point. Until then, stay safe,” they closed the post with.
