Earlier this year, Hellions announced the departure of beloved founding member, lyricist and guitarist Matt Gravolin. Gravolin made his triumphant swan song during the band national Rue tour, in order to focus on other music and artistic pursuits. Thankfully, this did not mark the end of our favourite genre-melding riff meisters. Today, Hellions unveil plans to herald their “new era.”

The band are set to descend on Sydney’s home of the heavy, Crowbar, for a one-off celebration show. Honestly, we can’t think of a better way to usher in the new year than shedding catharsis to the soaring chorus of ‘Thresher’. You know that we’ll be there bells ringing and fingers pointing.

The show goes down on January 3rd, and is set to mark the one year anniversary of the adored Leichardt pub. As well as witnessing Hellions make their highly-anticipated comeback, you’ll be able to revel in the nostalgia of a Comeback Kid 20 Year Anniversary set on Tuesday, December 31st, or perhaps indulge in the heart-rending acoustic chops of Trophy Eye’s frontman John Floreani on Thursday, January 2nd or Truckfighters on Saturday, January 4th, and lastly, Jay & Lindsay from Frenzal Rhomb on Sunday, January 5th.
