Two homegrown artists have managed to top Apple Music’s list of the 200 most-streamed songs of the ’90s, beating out the likes of Guns N’ Roses, Nirvana, and Oasis.

Look, it’s no secret that Australians love their music. Why, even a cursory look over at triple j’s Hottest 100 indicates that local music fans are passionate about the songs and bands from this country.

However, time and time again, we’ve managed to see that Australian acts tend to get outshined by their American counterparts when it comes to chart success, streaming habits, or even concert sales.

Now though, a new list revealed by Apple Music shows just how much Australians love their local tunes.

Revealed earlier today, Apple Music unleashed their ‘200 Most Streamed Songs From the 90s’ playlist to help music-lovers get their music choices all sorted for the long weekend.

So what’s made the cut? Well, in addition to classic tunes by the likes of The Cranberries, The Notorious B.I.G., Blink-182, and more, it’s the top three that has people talking.

Topping the list is none other than the Aussie anthem ‘Thunderstruck’, by AC/DC, which is followed closely by the Backstreet Boys’ iconic tune ‘I Want It That Way’.

At number three though, Daryl Braithwaite’s anthemic cover of Rickie Lee Jones’ ‘The Horses’ proves that decades removed from his Sherbet days, Braithwaite is still the chart-topping success he always has been.

The rest of the top ten plays relatively expectedly, with the likes of Oasis and the Red Hot Chili Peppers all scoring respectable placings.

However, if you’re hoping for an influx of Aussie tunes, you’ll have to scroll all the way down to #53 and #54 before you find any more homegrown tracks, where Natalie Imbruglia’s cover of ‘Torn’, and Powderfinger’s ‘These Days’ make an appearance.

What do you think of the list? Listen to the full playlist via Apple Music below, and check out a list of the top ten tracks while you’re here.
