90s legend Hope Sandoval played The Forum in Melbourne last night. The former lead singer of cult band Mazzy Star is notoriously shy and hates giving interviews but she took it a step further last night, storming off stage mid set and leaving an audience of about 1,000 fans wondering what was going on. Despite the sound actually being very good, drummer Colm O’Coisig, formerly of another 90s legendary band My Bloody Valentine, was forced to walk up to the microphone saying that the band were experiencing ‘technical difficulties’. Sandoval eventually returned to the stage after about a half hour gap, no doubt with a tour promoter pleading with her to go back on stage so he didn’t have to refund punter money.
