Australia’s pre-eminent time travelling DJ, Hot Dub Time Machine, has announced two free make-up shows for attendees of Saturday’s ill-fated Wine Machine festival.

On Sunday, we reported on how attendees at Saturday’s Wine Machine festival in the Hunter Valley had labelled the event as “shocking” for a number of reasons.

With an electrical storm bearing down on punters towards the end of the day, organisers were forced to cut the event short, undoubtedly leaving audience members rather disappointed.

Organisers of the event issued a statement on Sunday afternoon, addressing the concerns of patrons, apologising for the way the day ended up, and promising a “complimentary make-up show” from Hot Dub Time Machine in the future.

Now, Hot Dub Time Machine – whose set was cut short due to the storm – has announced not one, but two make-up shows for those who were at Wine Machine on Saturday.

“Like you I’m gutted I didn’t get to play on Saturday,” Hot Dub Time Machine wrote in a statement. “That storm was extremely frightening and I’m just thankful no one was seriously injured.”

As a way to make up for his cancelled set, Hot Dub Time Machine has now announced performances in Sydney and Newcastle next month for ticketholders of Saturday’s event.

With the first show kicking off on Thursday, April 11th at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre, and the second occurring at Newcastle’s Exhibition Centre the following night, Hot Dub acknowledged that these dates might not please everyone.

“We wanted to make it up to you with this small token of our appreciation,” he explained. “I understand the dates may not work for everyone but this is the best we were able to organise on short notice.”

“I will be bringing the full length HDTM shows too, can’t wait to make up for lost time!”

Ticketholders of Saturday’s Wine Machine event will receive emails with details on how to register for tickets to these upcoming make-up shows.
