Australia’s newest dance festival, Hypersonic, has just announced its first headline act.

Dutch DJ Armin van Buuren will grace the festival, set for Sydney and Melbourne in November 2025, according to a social post.

The festival has also unveiled ticket prices, with pre-purchase tickets now available for $175 + fees.

Regular presale is set for 12 p.m. Thursday, August 21, where tickets will start from $169.95 + fees. Any remaining tickets will go up for general sale at 12 p.m. Friday, August 22.

Announced last week, Hypersonic is described as a “ground breaking multi genre festival”, with a multi-stage lineup to drop.

It is produced by Symbiotic, one of Australia’s leading specialist trance event companies, led by CEO Richie McNeill and fellow director Janette Bishara.

McNeill is a leading figure in Australia’s electronic music scene, both as the DJ Richie Rich and as an entrepreneur. He managed Mushroom’s leading dance distributor, founded Hardware, and co-founded the much-loved and now defunct Stereosonic, the dance music juggernaut which at its peak could shift more than a quarter million tickets.
