More than 30 years on since the release of their final album, ’80s icons I’m Talking will be heading to the east coast of Australia for a pair of headline dates.

Late last year, it was revealed that influential ’80s group I’m Talking were set to reunite for their first shows in over three decades.

Supporting the great Bryan Ferry for his A Day On The Green appearances, the Melbourne collective kicked off the reunion with an appearance at St Kilda’s Memo Music Hall, undoubtedly proving that after so many years away, they still had what made them famous to begin with.

However, after a number of successful reunion performances, and the release of Dyin’ To Be Dancin back in February, I’m Talking revealed to their devoted followers that this would not be a one-and-done affair, instead promising they would be back for some more shows.

Now, we’ve got an idea of when we can see them live once more.

Taking to Facebook yesterday, I’m Talking announced that they would be playing long-awaited headline shows in Melbourne and Sydney this July.

Performing “all the songs from our first set of gigs this year plus a selection from Dyin’ To Be Dancin’“, the lineup for these shows consist of Kate Ceberano, Zan Abeyratne, Barbara Hogarth, Stephen Charlesworth, and Robert Goodge, alongside the “extra funky” Miles Henry and Brodie Everist.

Tickets to these shows will go on sale at 10am on Friday, June 14th, so be sure to get in early for what are bound to be some of the finest celebrations of Aussie music you’ve ever heard.

Most excitingly though, I’m Talking revealed that they “may even try to whip up some new stuff” as part of their reunion. Will we hear new material at these July shows? Only time will tell, but you’ll have to be there to find out!
