In a recent appearance on The Bootleg Kev Podcast, rapper J Stone confirmed that a posthumous Nipsey Hussle album is happening.

Shortly after he released his acclaimed Grammy-nominated debut album Victory Lap, rapper Nipsey Hussle was shot and murdered in Hyde Park, Los Angeles in April 2019. The 33-year-old rapper’s loss left a deep mark on his community, inspiring numerous memorials and outpouring of support.

Now, rapper J Stone, Hussle’s friend and longtime collaborator, has confirmed that a posthumous Nipsey Hussle album is definitely happening.

In a recent appearance on The Bootleg Kev Podcast, J Stone remarked that despite the care that he put into his craft, a lot of Hussle’s work is still going back and forth between studios.

According to him, all the Nipsey Hussle verses floating around can be released as a posthumous album. While he didn’t give out details as to the logistics, the plan has received positive responses.

“It’s so much music this n**** done did, bro. Like you wouldn’t even imagine, bro,” J Stone said. “There’s shit I haven’t even heard when I thought I heard everything.”

“It’s definitely going to be another Nip album,” J Stone explained. “But, it’s All Money In so we ain’t going to put out nothing Micky. … Rest in peace to [Pop Smoke]. I feel like if they would’ve held on to his music more and put it out the right way, it would’ve been received differently. But, the music was still good and we needed it at that time.”

Nipsey Hussle also featured on J Stone’s recent album, The Definition of Pain.

Earlier in August, Hussle was also featured posthumously on a collaboration with Big Sean on his track ‘Deep Reverence’. The song is up for a Grammy Award next year in the Best Rap Performance category.
