Last month, the internet was rocked by a video of a 14-year-old drum prodigy and her ferocious cover of Slipknot track ‘Unsainted.’

“Jay Weinberg is one of my favorite drummers, and I’m excited to cover one of his songs — the moment I heard Slipknot ‘Unsainted’ I knew this was the one! Very proud to be in the SJC Drums artist family with Jay!”  Maren Alford wrote in a description for the video. Check out her cover below.

Now, in perfectly wholesome news, Alford and Slipknot drummer Jay Weinberg have linked up. Weinberg invited Maren to the bands ‘Knotfest Roadshow’ this past Saturday in Dallas, Texas.

“Best day EVER hanging out with Jay Weinberg before KNOTFEST in Dallas! Not only is he a beast behind the kit, but he’s also the most encouraging, kind and generous guy!,” Alford wrote in a Facebook post.

“Really a dream come true to meet and spend time with him and the Slipknot show was INCREDIBLE! THANK YOU for everything Jay — you’re the BEST!”

If anyone knows anything about the importance of meeting your heroes, it’s Jay Weinberg. Weinberg recently took to social media to share re-created photos of him and his father —E Street Band drummer Max Weinberg— meeting Slipknot when Jay was a teenager.
