Aussie rock legend Jimmy Barnes has revealed he spent Monday night in St. Vincent’s Hospital after he was rushed to the emergency room for an undisclosed illness by his wife, Jane.

“I spent last night in ER at St Vincent Hospital and I want to thank the amazing staff who took care of me,” the 64-year-old wrote on Twitter on Tuesday.

“This song (see next post) is for them and my best friend @jane13barnes who dashed me there and stayed by my side. We’ll all get by with a little help from our friends”

The Cold Chisel rocker later shared a video alongside his wife Jane Barnes, as well as his daughter Elly-May and grandson Dylan.

“I had an unexpected visit to St Vincent’s emergency last night,” Barnsey said in the clip. “Non-COVID related by the way. But we were well looked after by our mates, doctors and nurses and staff at St Vinnies.”

Barnes then uploaded a video dedicating a classic Beatles track to doctors, nurses and his wife.

“This song is for the staff at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney and my best friend @jane13barnes. We’ll all get by with a little help from our friends. Look after each other in these uncertain times,” he wrote.

Following the post, friends and fans flooded the star with well wishes, with one Twitter user writing: “Get Well Soon !! I am thinking of you. You are still the Working Class Man and I hope to hear your voice lighting up the air ways soon. Your fighting spirit will pull you through. Hang in there. All the best to Jane and family.”

Another added: “You have no idea how much the whole country wishes you wellness. We really do love you sir.”

Luckily, according to Today Extra host and son of the Aussie icon, David Campbell, Jimmy seems to be doing just fine.

“Spoke to my dad,” he tweeted. “He is safe at home. Much better. Which is a relief.”
