Everyone’s favourite household name and Grease star, John Travolta, has revealed that he is, in fact, quite the expert on Limp Bizkit. What is the connection between the two you may ask? Well, John is starring in a film directed by Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit, and it seems he has a lot of respect for his new workplace bosses.

The film is called The Fanatic, and will see Travolta, who looks different every time he appears in the media, playing an obsessive fan who stalks a movie star. It’s gonna be really creepy seeing this role take form, I can already feel it. However, it seems that obsessive comes naturally to Travolta, as he is quite a fan of Limp Bizkit, being able to decipher which song is which just from a single line of lyrics alone in a new video from Consequence of Sound.

So how well does Travolta know Limp Bizkit exactly? Well at one stage of the minigame interview, Travolta cuts the guy off saying “I know this.” That kind of lyrical mastery only comes from a stan.

Durst has directed a few films before, but this one is based on a real experience. The Fanatic tells the story of a guy named Moose whose obsessed fandom eventually turns dark and dangerous.

“I didn’t know Fred could write this well, I didn’t know he could direct as well, and he blew my mind,” Travolta recently told 11 Alive. “He knew this guy Moose that’s actually loosely based on a real guy and he wrote it with me in mind…He just knew I could portray this guy.” I mean I guess that’s a compliment to Travolta right?

The Fanatic will have a brief debut in theatres starting Aug. 30, and then will be available to stream on online platforms.
