The latest instalment in the ongoing war between musicians and cell phones has arrived, this time, it involves Judas Priest.

Judas Priest took the stage at Illinois’ Rosemont Theatre on May 25th. During the band’s performance of their iconic track ‘Judas Rising’, frontman Rob Halford delivered a crippling blow to a fan. The Metal God, evidently frustrated with one punter, kicked the cellphone out of their hands and sent it flying through the stratosphere.

According to Blabbermouth, Halford’s frustration stemmed from the fact the fan was recording with the flash on, which distracted him from his performance. You can check out footage of the incident below, keep your eyes peeled for the flying phone at the 39-second mark.

Halford isn’t the only musician to take a stand against filming with a phone light on. Mitski took to Twitter back in April to kindly encourage fans to cease recording and flash photography during her show. “It’s distracting/jarring for a lot of performers, also chances are it interrupts the experience for the people around you,” she wrote.

One could argue that Rob Halford was following Corey Taylor’s lead. Back in 2016, the Slipknot frontman whacked a phone out of a punter in the front rows hand.

Additionally, in back in November 2017, fans were removed from A Perfect Circle gigs after ignoring the signs restricting photography during the band’s performance. It was noted that over 60 people were ejected from the band’s performance at the SMG Managed Santander Arena And Santander Performing Arts Center in Reading, Pennsylvania.

Slipknot will be heading to Australia with Metallica later this year for the monolithic WorldWired tour. Check out the tour dates below.
