Kanye West looks set for the world of animated TV, with Rick & Morty creators offering the divisive hip-hop icon his own episode.

If you’ve not been paying attention, TV fans are currently abuzz with the news that Rick & Morty is set to return to our screens this November.

With a 70-episode order, it’s not clear how many episodes fans will be getting during season four, but it looks as though there will be no shortage of quotable content for eager audiences.

Following the announcement of the show’s renewal last year, superfan Kanye West took to Twitter to express his excitement, calling it his “favorite show”, and noting he has “seen every episode at least 5 times each.”

Now, as The Blast notes, creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon have acknowledged Kanye West’s fanatic response to the show, with Roiland stating in a recent interview that, “We fucking love Kanye, man. He’s a kindred spirit.”

“If that guy had the support to do all the ideas he has in his head, it would be Elon Musk 2.0.”

Although Justin Roiland explained that Kanye is “always welcome” on the show, and has an “open invitation” to appear whenever he wants, Dan Harmon has gone one better, offering the rapper his very own episode.

“I’m giving him an episode, I’m making it official,” Harmon explained. “We have 70, he can have one. Kanye, you can have an episode.”

Of course, this news should come as no surprise, with creators of Rick & Morty even being tapped by Kim Kardashian to provide a song for Kanye’s 41st birthday last year.

Appropriately titled ‘Kanye’s B-Day Song’, the track features Justin Roiland voicing the titular characters Rick and Morty with musical accompaniment by Los Angeles band Chaos Chaos.

The track itself is rather creepy, describing Rick and Morty bestowing birthday wishes upon Kanye while creeping into his room, describing his body as a pillow, and cutting off a lock of his hair to create “some Kanye clones”.

In related news, Kanye West is set to be the subject of a new anthology TV series called Omniverse, which will see Jaden Smith explore the concept of the Ego through an alternate reality version of Kanye West.

“I’m honored and thrilled to be collaborating with everyone involved to present an alternate world through the eyes of a young man somewhere in the multiverse who happens to also be a Kanye West,” explained writer Lee Sung Jin.

Omniverse is not set in our world nor about our world’s Kanye West as we aim to add a new spin on alternate realities, consciousness, and push the limits of half hour narrative.”
