Joining the Double J team this month and next as the station’s Artists In Residence are two bonafide legends of alternative music – Bikini Kill, Le Tigre, and Julie Ruin frontwoman and riot grrrl icon Kathleen Hanna and Mudhoney frontman and grunge legend Mark Arm.

Hanna will serve as Artist In Residence from 3 – 5pm every Sunday in September and Arm will be broadcasting from 3 – 5pm every Sunday in October. Expect plenty of awesome tunes and an insight into the tastes, thoughts, and inspirations of two of music’s most influential artists.

Hanna will be celebrating “female music pioneers, dancefloor and DIY heroes and landmark songs made by women from folk to punk and pop”, as well as broadcasting a special program discussing and comparing classic covers and their original versions.

Meanwhile, Arm will be on the mic having raided his personal music collection and the crates of his bandmates in the garage-psych supergroup Monkeywrench, delivering us five weeks worth of totally fuzzed-out, acrid jams.
