After three years of waiting, Killswitch Engage have revealed that their long-awaited eighth album is set to be released later this year.

Back in 2016, Killswitch Engage released Incarnate, their second album since the return of original vocalist Jesse Leach. Arguably their most successful record when it comes to the charts, the album was well-received by fas, who were left wanting more.

Since then, we’ve been hearing rumours of the new record, though we didn’t really receive too much information.

Now, the group have revealed that album number eight is set to be released in autumn of 2019 in the US, which roughly equates to spring for us Southern Hemisphere-dwellers.

Captioned by the phrase “now you know”, it seems that this banner bearing the record’s release timeframe appears to be the result of constant speculation from fans about when the new album would finally arrive.

As most fans would likely be aware, this new album doesn’t come without a few headaches for the group, with vocalist Jesse Leach being forced to undergo surgery back in early 2018, putting immediate recording and touring plans on hold.

While the group appear to be back on track now, they’ve also recruited former singer Howard Jones to appear on one of the many songs they’ve made for this new record, calling the track he appears on a “a real heavy shit-kicker.”

Although we’re still unsure of when the new record will precisely arrive, fans are undoubtedly stoked to learn that things are moving as expected in the Killswitch Engage camp, and that we’ll be hearing their long-awaited new record before the year is out.

Now all we have to do is wait for them to make their return back to Aussie shores.
