The reigning couple of the pop culture world, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, are reportedly getting a divorce.
According to a report published to Page Six, Kim Kardashian has hired high-profile attorney Laura Wasser to handle the divorce.
“They are keeping it low-key but they are done,” a source reportedly told the publication. “Kim has hired Laura Wasser and they are in settlement talks.”
Page Six notes that over the past few weeks, Kim has been seen without her wedding ring. The pair also reportedly did not spend the holiday season together, with Kanye staying at his Wyoming ranch and Kim heading to Los Angeles to celebrate with her family.
“Kim got Kanye to go up there [Wyoming] so they could live separate lives and quietly get things sorted out to separate and divorce. She’s done,” the source revealed.
It’s been a tumultuous, highly-publicised year for Kim and Kanye’s marriage — intensified by Kanye’s attempt at running for President of the United States.
The campaign saw Kanye share intimate details about their relationship. During his first presidential rally, Kanye broke down into tears after revealing that he and Kim considered having an abortion, before acknowledging that his own father wanted to have him aborted.

“There would have been no Kanye West … because my dad was too busy!” West said at the time.
This bizarre behaviour sparked widespread concern about Kanye’s mental health. In July, Kim Kardashian issued a lengthy statement, addressing her husband’s mental health, asking for compassion and empathy as his family deal with his bipolar journey.
“As many of you know, Kanye has bi-polar disorder. Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does, knows how incredibly complicated and painful it is to understand,” she wrote.
“I understand Kanye is subject to criticism because he is a public figure and his actions at times can cause strong opinions and emotions.”
The source revealed that Kim has done all that is in her power to help Kanye navigate his mental health battle, “Now this divorce is happening because Kim has grown up a lot.
“She is serious about taking the bar exam and becoming a lawyer, she is serious about her prison reform campaign. Meanwhile Kanye is talking about running for president and saying other crazy shit, and she’s just had enough of it.”
