Kings of Leon, everyone’s favourite Southern Rockers that aren’t ZZ Top or Lynyrd Skynyrd… or Stevie Ray Vaughan, are back.
The Nashville natives have hinted towards the release of their first new album in three years with a few posts via their Facebook page and a short video with the caption, “The wait is over. 7 is coming”, teasing fans with some classic KOL imagery and ending with a shot of the group in the studio.
If the rumours are to be believed and the album is indeed called Walls this will be the first Kings of Leon record not to feature a five-syllable title, something that has not gone unnoticed by the band’s Facebook audience.
Both bassist Jared and drummer Nathan Followill tweeted out images alongside the caption, “It’s coming. #WALLS #KOL7” further teasing fans.
The band are said to have been recording in LA, where they recorded their first two albums, Youth &a Young Manhood and Aha Shake Heartbreak. Could this be a sign of the band’s long-awaited return to their ‘classic’ sound?
While there is no release date as of yet, the social media posting is a positive sign that a new album is well on its way.
