KONGOS are pleased to announce their first Australian dates with very special guests Kingswood. The four sons of South African singer John Kongos (whose song ‘He’s Gonna Step On You Again’ was the basis for The Happy Mondays’ ‘Step On’) have been making waves of their own as a family band, scaling the US charts with their million-selling single ‘Come With Me Now’.

This US smash-hit single spent five consecutive weeks at no.1 on the Billboard Alternative Chart in America, beating Lorde’s ‘Royals’ in the process to become the fastest-ever ascent to Number One by a debut artist in US chart history.

KONGOS are quickly becoming one of the most exciting alternative rock bands of 2014, being described by the Daily Telegraph (UK) as,“Mumford & Sons jamming Crowded House and Kings Of Leon covers with Arcade Fire in a Soweto after-hours drinking den”.

Currently on tour with Kings of Leon, then heading straight out on tour with One Republic, KONGOS will be joined on stage with Kingswood. Having played over one hundred shows in the past year including main stage for Splendour in the Grass and Big Day Out, KINGSWOOD have been obliterating clubs across Australia on their recent sold out album tour. Kingswood’s new album, ‘Microscopic Wars’ is out now.

By all accounts these shows will be a riot live.
