After 25 years as the drummer of metal outfit Lamb Of God, Chris Adler’s departure from the group has been officially confirmed today, with the group announcing his replacement on social media.

Co-founding the band back in 1994, drummer Chris Adler helped the group go from being a small band named Burn The Priest, to the worldwide sensation that is Lamb Of God.

Sadly, following injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident back in 2017, Adler has been absent from the group, with frontman Randy Blythe revealing that it is “hard to say” what would happen in regards to the drummer’s return.

Now, the group have revealed that their official lineup has changed, with Adler’s departure being confirmed.

Taking to Facebook today, Lamb Of God revealed that they would officially welcome Art Cruz into the band, who had served as Adler’s touring replacement over the last year.

“We returned last week from a great European festival run and our final tour with Slayer in North America. We are excited to keep the momentum going and dive into the next record,” they began.

“We’d like to officially welcome Art Cruz, who has been playing drums with us on tour for the last year, as the new drummer of Lamb of God. Art will be joining us in the studio as we begin pre-production and recording of a new album.

“We’re very proud of everything this band has accomplished over the last two decades. We would like to thank Chris Adler for his contributions over the years and wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

While there’s no word yet as to what Chris Adler will find himself doing, this news is undoubtedly one of mixed emotions for many fans. Whatever the case, we hope to see both a new album, and tour, from Lamb Of God before too long!
