Laneway Locks In 2027 Festival Dates

A fortnight after confirming Adelaide and Perth would miss out on Laneway Festival in 2027, organisers have revealed when the scaled-back event will take place.

The festival will return to Sydney’s Centennial Park on Friday, February 12th, before heading north to Brisbane Showgrounds on Saturday, February 13th. The following weekend, it will return to its longtime Melbourne home at Flemington Park on Friday, February 19th, before wrapping up across the Tasman at Auckland’s Western Springs on Sunday, February 21st.

The four-date route follows confirmation earlier this month that Adelaide and Perth will miss out on Laneway in 2027, as organisers reduce the festival’s footprint. At the time, Laneway said the demands of staging several festivals across Australia and New Zealand within a short window had contributed to the decision.

“Running so many shows, so close together, across so much ground is a logistical feat we’re proud of, but it also asks a lot of our lineup and crew,” organisers said. “Taking a pause allows us to focus on making the festival the best it can be, while freeing up time for more artists to bring headline shows to cities beyond our festival stops.”

Organisers stressed the Adelaide and Perth omissions were not necessarily permanent, telling fans the move “isn’t goodbye, just see you soon”.

The 2027 route also marks Laneway’s return to Brisbane after the Queensland leg moved to Southport Sharks on the Gold Coast for the 2026 edition.

The lineup remains under wraps for now, with the first artist announcement expected in late September.

Laneway celebrated its 21st anniversary in 2026 with a lineup led by Chappell Roan, alongside Wolf Alice, Role Model, Wet Leg, PinkPantheress, Geese, and more.

Earlier this year, Laneway co-founder Danny Rogers told Rolling Stone AU/NZ the festival remained focused on discovering artists on the cusp of breaking through rather than simply chasing established names.

“I’m still more interested in finding who the next Charli is, who the next Fontaines D.C. is, you know,” Rogers said. “I’d rather the festival be in a position where it can move culture, not just be a follower.”
