It’s probably a few years away, but Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi already has plans for his eventual biopic, citing Meat Loaf as the dream casting choice to play himself.

If you’ve been paying attention to the world of music over the last few years, you likely would have heard of Scotland’s Lewis Capaldi. Releasing his debut album back in May, the 22-year-old hit #4 on the ARIA charts last year for his ‘Someone You Loved’ single, which made him a household name in the process.

Famously though, Capaldi has become something of an internet sensation thanks to his quick wit and hilarious commentary on social media.

In fact, the musician responded to Noel Gallagher “slagging him off” back in June by noting that such an incident was “dreams coming true.”

“Number 1 single – who gives a fuck? Number 1 album – who gives a fuck?” he added. “It’s Father’s Day and I’m being slagged off by a man who’s old enough to be my dad, and I’ve never been more happy.”

However, Lewis Capaldi has now continued his streak of hilarity by taking part in an “Ask Me Anything” session with Cosmopolitan, where he offered up an unlikely casting choice for an eventual biopic of himself.

“Meat Loaf,” Capaldi confidently chose for the title role. “But I want him to play me as he is now, from my childhood right through to the present.

“No prostheses, no CGI, I want him to look like Meat Loaf. I think he’s a handsome man.”

Elsewhere in the piece, Capaldi defended his social media hilarity, noting that the “craziest rumour” he’d heard about himself was that he had “hired a comedy writer to come up with jokes for his social media.”

“[It’s] obviously a load of fucking nonsense because my jokes are mainly about pubes and shitting,” he explained.

While Meat Loaf was recently in the news after an unfortunate fall saw him break his collarbone, Lewis Capaldi is set to visit Australia later this year, having been named on the 2019/20 Falls Festival lineup just last week.
