Melbourne’s reigning overlords of emo, Ceres, made their triple j Like A Version debut this morning.

The band cracked off a rendition of their 2018 comeback single ‘Viv In The Front Seat,’ which was, of course, perfect. Check it out below.

Today is a momentous occasion because today is the day that somebody was finally brave enough to cut their teeth covering the Vanessa Carlton classic ‘A Thousand Miles’ on Like A Version. I’ve always believed that the song would make for a meaty pop-punk track.

Ceres has reimagined it as a gorgeous, twinkly, emo-tinged masterpiece that would make American Football burn their entire musical output in a rage of inferiority. It is nothing short of glorious, check it out below.

If anything, the Ceres Like A Version appearance has reaffirmed what I’ve always suspected: they’re the best band in the god damn world.

2019 has been a bountiful year in the way of sterling LAV performances. Our personal favourites include Denzel Curry’s blistering performance of ‘Bulls on Parade’, Ruby Fields cover of ‘The Unguarded Moment’ and of course, Gambino’s silky-smooth version of ‘So Into You’.
