There is a new posthumous record from emo-revival hip hop pioneer Lil Peep is on the way.

The record was announced by Lil Peep’s mother, Liza Womack, through his official Instagram account.

“Who wants a new album with amazing unreleased Lil Peep music put together by Gus’s mom and the songs’s original collaborators?” the post read “You have been asking for this, and I can’t wait to get it to you!”.

Lil Peep, real name Gustav Ahr, passed away in 2017 at the age of 21. An official autopsy ruled his death to be an accidental overdose caused by a combination of fentanyl and Xanax.

Peep released his debut record, Come Over When You’re Sober, Pt. 1 in August 2017. A posthumous follow-up, Come Over When You’re Sober, Pt. 2, was released in November 2018.

Earlier this month, blink-182 drummer Travis Barker released a remix of Peep track ‘Falling Down.’ In a promotional video for the track, Barker explained that he was inspired by the melancholy blink-182 Enema of the State track ‘Adams Song’ served as an inspiration for the remix.

Barker’s remix features the controversial verse from disgraced rapper XXXTentacion, that was added after Lil Peep’s passing. XXXTentacion was notorious for his violent, abusive behaviour towards women.

Upon the track’s release, Peep’s fellow GothBoiClique member Fish Narc criticised the criticism on Instagram, stressing that “Peep never heard the XXX feature.”

“[Peep] explicitly rejected XXX for his abuse of women, spent time and money getting XXX’s songs removed from his Spotify playlists, and wouldn’t have co-signed that song. Don’t listen to it,” he continued. “This shit is people trying to make money off him. He never would have signed up for that, he did not like XXXTentacion.”
