The Limp Bizkit Australian Tour 2013 has been officially announced.

Following on from the nu-metal band supposedly leaking dates of a Down Under to Australian fans, only for them to get missed with all attention drawn to the Federal Election, Soundwave Touring now confirms that Limp Bizkit are headed to Australia this October.

The Fred Durst-fronted rap metal group will be playing a series of headline shows kickstarting in Brisbane, before hitting Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth.

The October tour will be Limp Bizkit’s first Australian tour since playing as part of the Soundwave 2012 lineup, which marked their first shows in Australia in 11 years, their last being their tragic turn at the 2001 Big Day Out in which Jessica Michalik was crushed in the crowd, who the band paid tribute to onstage during their Soundwave 2012 sets.

The 2013 tour will likely feature material from Limp Bizkit’s troubled new studio album, Stampede Of The Disco Elephants, the band’s first album as part of Lil Wayne’s Cash Money Records roster that’s been rescheduled for release several times and is now slated for an early 2014 release.

The new record will follow on from the band’s ‘comeback’ 2011 record Gold Cobra, their first after their 2009 reunion when many assumed that they’d heard the last of the noughties rap-metal group – including Fred Durst, who as recently as August 2012 had admitted the band were “a moment in time and it’s over.” It seems things have since picked up for Durst even as he and his cohorts are regularly listed in ‘Most Hated’ lists.

Their fans aren’t concerned about the haters though, with Limp Bizkit scoring over 35 million albums sales worldwide and continuing a pace with their ground shaking live show.
