Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda appears to be up to something, with fans receiving a number of puzzle pieces in the mail.

Over a week ago, Mike Shinoda put out a call on Twitter to ask 50 of his fans to send him their address. Of course, the Tweet blew up, with over 3,000 fans liking it, and an immeasurable amount of fans actually sending through their address.

While fans were undoubtedly a bit confused as to what he needed their addresses for, it all began to make sense when certain fans began to receive mail from Warner Bros., with ripped up pieces of paper on the inside.

Understandably, this raised even more questions, but thanks to the power of the Internet, fans have come together on Reddit to share what they got, and attempt to complete this global jigsaw puzzle.

Mike is playing some weird puzzle game with us. He sends one piece to a fan from each state… if you see a puzzle or received one yourself, make sure to upload them here (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jHACKtkbaLNSlNKhaC_tWahrR5hiroOqc_B4uQuqCNQ/edit#gid=0) from r/LinkinPark

So far, 22 fans have added their pieces to a Google Spreadsheet, and the big picture is slowly coming into focus. While it’s far from complete, the image seems to indicate that Shinoda will be releasing something with K.Flay this month, though it’s not clear what exactly. Most fans are speculating a single will be released, although others are assuming it may be a one-off concert.

While the future of Linkin Park is currently unclear, Mike Shinoda has recently gone on record to reveal he’s mainly focusing on his solo career at the current time.

“I don’t really know where it’s gonna go,” Shinoda explained. “I’m basically trying to keep everything really open (right now).”

“I’m more excited about shows now than any time I can remember, just even doing a club show the other night for 600 people,” he continued. “I’d written like a set for 60 minutes and I was onstage for 85, just kind of milking it. I was actually talking a lot, I added songs to the set and I was just enjoying being up there. We were just having this really cool, communal energy or something.”

“So I’m really just looking forward to more of that and wherever that takes me.”
