December of last year was a very exciting time for Dick Diver fans, the Melbourne four-piece releasing the carefree tune ‘Waste The Alphabet‘, the first track from their forthcoming record Melbourne, Florida. Today they’ve added fuel to the fire, dropping the second single from the highly anticipated record and oh boy is it good.
‘Tearing The Posters Down’ is the brand-spanker from the adored popsters which sees the band seamlessly melt together their super Aussie ocker vocals with a much more New Zealand ‘Dunedin Sound’ à la the watery, jangled guitar tones of iconic Kiwis, The Clean, to create a breezy indie pop gem.
Not that we were getting sick of mashing the repeat button with ‘Waste The Alphabet’, but we are stoked to add a second track to our summer playlist, especially when it’s this great.
Melbourne, Florida is set for release on 6th March, for now you can dig the infectiously warm ‘Tearing The Posters Down’ below:
