Tremelo guitar. Lots of it. It’s the backbone of ‘The Fool’, the serene new surf pop/rock track from emerging Fremantle group Gunns.
With a languid drumbeat and hazy vocals, ‘The Fool’ is a halcyon four-minute meander that channels a palmy, summertime vibe.
This sonic effervescence is a light counterpoint to the rather more contemplative message behind the track – as
Gunns’ guitarist Clinton Oliver explains, the song was written back in 2011, but was “never really sounding complete until the addition of synthesizer in 2014…The song has a simple message….”be real, be honest, be yourself”. Don’t let fame change you as a person.”
Gunns will be touring nationally throughout November with San Cisco. And on the strength of this new release, you’d be a fool not to check them out.
