A little over a month out from their rescheduled dates, British girl group Little Mix have announced the cancellation of their Australian tour.

Back in April, English outfit Little Mix revealed to their fans that they would be making their return to Australia for the first time since 2017.

Touring in support of their fifth album, 2018’s LM5, these dates were originally slated to kick off in July, only to be pushed back after a “promotional scheduling conflict” arose.

With the new dates rescheduled to take place in December, the group have now taken to social media to reveal that their upcoming tour has now been officially cancelled.

In a statement posted on Twitter earlier today, Little Mix announced the news in a heartfelt message to fans.

“We are really sad to announce that we have to cancel our upcoming Australian and New Zealand tour dates,” they explained. “We are so sorry for disappointing our fans who were coming to the shows.”

Check out the band’s announcement:

“This is not a decision we’ve taken lightly but we have to use this time to focus on recording new music,” they continued. “Please contact your point of purchase for a full refund on tickets.”

Likewise, another statement was shared through the Ticketek website, noting that, “Little Mix are sad to announce that they are unfortunately cancelling their Australian and New Zealand tour this December due to new recording commitments.”

“The band sincerely apologise to all their Australian and New Zealand fans for disappointing them.”

At this stage, it is unclear when or if Little Mix will be able to return to Australia, though fans are undoubtedly already looking forward to the future with eagerness.
