Evil US touring and venue conglomerate Live Nation, which owns or controls almost 20,000 venues has apparently sacked 100 staff in an attempt to find ‘efficiencies’ as it prepares to merge with another evil company trying to control the music business from start to finish, Ticketmaster. Most of the cuts are from ‘back office’ staff, as it prepares to close venues with low margins or which are not popular enough. Naturally, the artists who they continually squeeze for a bigger cut shouldn’t expect to see a penny of these cost savings.
