Lorna Doom, the bassist of Los Angeles punk band Germs, has passed away. Her death was confirmed by former Germs drummer Don Bolles in a Facebook post earlier today.

He followed up in the comments section, explaining, “She left this mortal coil today around 1.” Her cause of death currentyl remains unknown.

Germs formed in 1976 and released the seminal record (GI) in 1979. The lineup featured Lorna Doom, Don Bolles, Darby Crash and current Foo Fighters guitarist Pat Smear. The band disbanded following Darby Crash’s 1980 suicide. They later reformed in 2005 through to 2009.
