Australian post-hardcore outfit Dream On, Dreamer are on the verge of releasing Loveless, a full-length record with magnificent musical style and production. The five-piece band demonstrates instrumental diversity and track development on the new record.
The title track is mysterious and harmonic with newly recruited clean vocalist Zachary Britt demonstrating his abilities before lead vocalist Marcel Gadacz steers things in a heavier direction. As expected, the symphonic introduction is simply the build-up for the breakdown to instrumental chaos.
The metalers’ mastery is showcased early on in Loveless with the feature of their first single called ‘The World In Front Of Me’. Gadacz’s slow paced and controlled roar matches the melodic riffs perfectly and signifies obvious musical maturity. Britt chimes in, holding notes far better than the average clean vocalist.
The Victorians combine waves of ambience with breakdowns sculptured at the perfect time shaping tracks like ‘Infinity’. The guitar and drum notes could be used for a variety of genres but the vocalists dictate the direction to a strong post-hardcore influence.
Towards the end of the record, one of the best tracks is revealed known as ‘Evol’. The song is overwhelmingly energetic as the musicians maintain the ambient atmosphere which has perpetuated throughout Loveless. Once again the band demonstrates musical coordination between members which enhances the song quality.
Whilst Heartbound was an impressive album for the band, the production and musical experimentation in Loveless is something which is likely to increase the recognition of Dream On, Dreamer to the world stage, further than they had before.
