Australian singer-songwriter Maddy Jane has revealed headline tour dates to celebrate her latest EP, Clear as Mud Pt 1.
Set to perform in Melbourne, Hobart, and Sydney this September, Jane promises a gripping live show to mark the beginning of a “new chapter” in her musical journey.
“Playing live is where it all makes sense for me,” Jane says. “These songs were written in such an intense and personal place, so getting to share them in a room with people—where we can feel it all together—is honestly magic.
“I’m so excited to bring this new chapter to life on stage.”
Released in June, Clear as Mud Pt 1 sees Jane embrace the contrasting aspects of her life after a series of deeply personal discoveries.
“It’s the most powerful and self-assured place I’ve ever made music from,” she said. “I’ve come to understand that songs are spells—they hold meaning, intention, and energy. I’m not stuck in a machine anymore. This is just the beginning.”
A highlight from the EP, “A Woman is a Woman”, captures Jane’s process of “recognising how repressed I was—and feeling free in finally understanding just how much I was holding myself back.”

“Being afraid of my most powerful self doesn’t serve anyone,” she adds. “Working out I’m queer, realising how the male gaze and cultural expectations shaped me, and falling in love with women—those things helped me reclaim my power and find real assurance in who I am.”
Jane explained that the title of the two-part EP series reflects the classic Aussie phrase “clear as mud”—which, as she puts it, “says it all. I’m not sure what you mean, but I get it.”
