Manowar have released a statement responding to news that guitarist Karl Logan was arrested and charged for possessing child pornography.

The band posted their response to the news on Twitter this morning after the news broke yesterday. The statement revealed Logan will not continue performing with the band.

The statement reads “Regarding Karl Logan. With regard to Karl Logan’s arrest and the charges against him: Due to the fact that Karl and his attorneys are dealing with these issues, he will not perform with MANOWAR. The new album and upcoming tour will not be affected. Magic Circle Entertainment”

Whilst the news that this will not affect the upcoming tour and new album from the metal group, many fans were not impressed by the response. Criticisms over whether this means Logan might return to the group and an overall lack of denouncing his actions have been shared to Twitter.

The 53 year old guitarist was arrested on August 9 in North Carolina and charged with six counts of third-degree exploitation of a minor. The Blast reports a spokesperson for the Mecklenburg County Sheriffs Office told them a warrant was issued back in August for his arrest and he was booked into the local jail. Logan’s bail was set at $35,000 and he has since bonded out.

Logan joined Manowar in 1994 after the departure of David Shankle. It is unclear whether his hiatus from the band is permanent as of yet. Check out Manowar’s “Warriors Of The World” below.
