Newly-albino producer/musician Mark Ronson has revealed that he was once part of the Michael Jackson sleepover club when he was a boy.

In an interview with ShortList Magazine he called Jackson a “magical pied piper” to children, adding “’he was just like a big kid. He just seemed like a kid that never really got to grow up.”

The Grammy-award winning man-about-town also said that he kept a tight lip when it came to telling other kids at school about the sleepovers because “if I bragged about it I knew that one of two things would happen: a) the kids would think that I was full of s**t or b) they would think I was obnoxious and I’d get a slap for it. All in all, it was better to say nothing.”

I think in retrospect he’s probably rather happy there was no c) he would bear the stigma of being part of the sleepover club for which Jackson was embroiled in a headline-making court case over child sex-abuse claims, which he was eventually acquitted of. Nothing wrong with a bit of bedtime hair-plaiting and tickles right?

Well, in retrospect, it’s probably best that it was all kept on the down-low for the sake of Ronson being treated as a serious artist in future.

Ronson also stated “All kids love Michael Jackson, he had some sort of effect. I would watch footage of him when I was older and you’d see these kids of 12 and 13 who weren’t even born the last time he put out a good album but they’d be screaming and fainting.” Screaming and fainting? Sorry Ronson, but Valium is NOT for kids…
